Outline planning permission has been granted for a new 99-bed hotel and pub/restaurant in a prominent position at the entrance to the Northumberland Estates owned Wynyard Business Park in Stockton-on-Tees.
The development, which is at the junction of the A19 with the A689, is expected to create up to 50 new jobs and will serve the 2,000 plus office workers at Wynyard Business Park as well as those living in the nearby Wynyard Park housing development.
This project is a joint venture between Wynyard Park and Northumberland Estates and the owners are now seeking operators for the two development sites.
The hotel is expected to focus on business users during the week, with rooms for weddings and leisure use at weekends. The site is close to Wynyard Golf Club which boasts a championship course popular with visitor teams and which already hosts corporate golf days. With 60 car parking spaces on the one acre site, this could be a great opportunity for a national or regional chain operator or local entrepreneur.
